He holds a bachelor's degree in commerce from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, University of Mumbai, and a bachelor's degree in law from Government Law College, University of Mumbai. He has been enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa and has been a practising lawyer for over 15 years. He has passed the final examination held by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
